Nairobi CBD @ Night in HDR

A couple of weeks ago I hooked up with fellow photographers on a daring Night Photography in the streets of Nairobi. The fear of sleeping in Cold City Council cells kept us looking over our shoulders Kila dakika since we had not acquired permission to shoot. With our tripods and Gigantic DSLRs it was hard to be inconspicuous.

As if tempting fate we were daring enough to shoot a few blocks from Cityhall. We however managed without any incidents except for the curious motorist and bypassers.

Thika Rd light streaks

I had been debating about this shoot in my mind for a while but this time I got to do it. In disregard to the risk factor I headed out solo into the dark armed with my camera and tripod. The shoot took like an hour (8pm to 9pm) since I had to scout for locations.

During this time I only saw one person who upon seeing me decided to change course. I could read question marks on motorist as they drove past……

Die another day?

The past week has been such a hustle, moving out and moving right back in after the courts ordered a status quo as a court case was opened (refer previous post-the end of hmurimi?). The despite the negative side of things a few good things did happen I got hired to shoot lots of images from the building that were marked for demolition I think their owners wanted to have at least some memories of properties they once owned while some were taken to the media or shown to the judges to gain some.. sympathy? I don’t know.

Most of the images I shot were as per brief but I managed to grab my own shots just the way I liked them. this two images were shot from the rear of the building (the front, which I shot most of were fancy with paint and finishing which was not what I was looking for)
