Got a chance to shoot a beautiful lady named Ann last week, She came to the studio for a portrait shoot after seeing some of my work and was kind enough to allow me to blog it. During the shoot I decided to get a bit adventurous with light and loved how the images turned out… I`ll be getting even more adventurous in my upcoming shoots so keep it locked.
Today`s post is a little different. You get to see the making of a DVD cover that I did for Mwana Mpuku a Zambian gospel artist living in kenya. He found me through google. This was actually a redesign as the work had been given to another designer, but the video producer felt it was not satisfactory.
It took about 30 min or less to come up with the concept and shoot. It helps when you already have an idea of how you want the cover to look. In this case I wanted to illustrate asking for blessing (on the front cover) and receiving the blessing (on the back cover).
Several days later the client called me up to inform me that the producer liked it.

When I saw Jaky`s hair I was like wow! I`d like to try something with that. Lately I have developed hawk eyes as am always looking for something interesting to shoot. I`ve gone to the extent of approaching strangers if they have something I`d consider interesting, for this kind of shoots I don’t mind going pro bono.
This would be longest shoot I have ever done non stop, it lasted about 5 hours!. . Neecie come over the studio after seeing some photos I had done for her sister and we organized a shoot Chap chap.It was also the most fun I have ever had in a shoot, we got like 70 stunning images from about 100 that I took.
Below are some that I did on a seamless white backdrop with rock music keeping our mood upbeat.
